Okinawa, the southern most island of Japan, is known as one of the “Blue Zones” of the world. It is known for its longevity, where Okinawan cuisine plays a big part in. Learn about the local ingredients and recipes, and make Okinawan dishes to enjoy for yourself!
Learn about Okinawan cuisine and the different popular dishes of Okinawa from a native Okinawan cooking expert. There will be 3 to 4 dishes made through this experience; she will explain about the local ingredients used in each dish, and demonstrate the cooking process. Participants will then have the opportunity to do some cutting and/or cooking themselves. At the end, participants will have a full course Okinawan meal (without dessert) to enjoy! If interested, a mini lecture on Okinawan cuisine can be done with an additional price.
