Miho-no-Matsubara, located near Mt. Fuji in Shizuoka Prefecture, is renowned for its scenic beauty and cultural significance. It is home to a pine grove of 7 km (4.3 miles), a coastline lined with 54,000 pine trees, that are considered one of the three great pine trees of Japan. In this experience, we will arrange a private special lunch party using local tastes of Miho-no-Matsubara. Of course, there is time to stroll the area with a guide!
The first stop on this experience will be the Culture & Creativity Center Miho Shirube, where you can see exhibits showcasing the value, history, and charm of Miho-no-Matsubara. There is also information about conservation activities for the pine grove. This visit will help you understand why the area is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Next, it’s time to explore the area! You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the beach and pine grove, rich in cultural history and even mentioned in ancient Japanese literature.
Lastly, you will enjoy a private lunch in the courtyard of a historic ryokan, usually accessible only to guests of the ryokan. It will include a delicious meal using local vegetables and tea, as Shizuoka is known for its Japanese tea plantations.
